In a recent study “Advances in Patient Safety” by The Journal indicated that the primary source

of medication errors was nursing homes. Medication errors aren’t only the administering of an 

incorrect prescription drug but can also include the failure to provide or withhold food or liquid 

with the medication, crushing the medication or keeping it whole, failure to mix or “roll” the 

medication properly, neglecting to make sure patient swallows pills, and of course mistaking 

the medication and administering an incorrect drug.

Skiing and snowboarding are very popular sports during the winters and also the cause of many injuries and even deaths! According to the National Ski Areas Assocation, “during the past 10 years, about 41.2 people have died skiing/snowboarding per year on average.” Most recent records show that during the 2011/2012 season, 54 deaths occurred out of the 51 million active skiers and snowboarder days recorded.

Icy conditions out in Worcester, MA a few days back caused an unbelievable 65 car pile up leaving 35 injured. Just before 7 a.m., Sixty one cars, two trailer trucks and two six-wheel trucks collided in Worcester, Mass., creating a 1,500 foot long chain of impacted vehicles, according to Massachusetts State Police.

A Massachusetts teen is facing motor-vehicle homicide and texting charges after a crash in February. This is the first alleged case of a death connected to texting while driving since a statewide ban went into effect in September.

The Essex District Attorney has charged Aaron Deveau, 17, of Haverhill with motor-vehicle homicide, texting while operating a motor vehicle negligently and causing injury in connection with a crash. The auto accident killed a passenger in the other vehicle.
